What to Expect

All Us Women is a textile exhibition by mixed media artist Janey Moffatt, showing at Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart from 7 September to 26 October 2026. The work uses delicate free machine embroidery to explore healing and resilience, created with women who have experienced trauma including domestic violence, homelessness, addiction and mental health difficulties. Pieces combine imagery of gunmen with the Irish sun goddess Aine, and were developed through natural dyeing sessions and the sewing of protective amulets during community textile workshops. Moffatt, born in Coleraine in 1975, works across fabric, paper, stitch, drawing and painting, drawing on childhood memories of the Troubles alongside recurring nature motifs. Ahead of the show she held a residency at Flowerfield from 27 August to 5 September, running two free drop in sessions with local women and community groups that fed into the finished exhibition.

Flowerfield Arts Centre is Portstewart’s dedicated creative hub, run by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, with a purpose built gallery, pottery studio, media workshop and 150 seat auditorium in a converted Georgian building. The centre’s autumn programme runs this show alongside two other exhibitions opening the same week, giving visitors several new shows to see in one visit.

• Admission to view the exhibition is free.
• Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5pm, with an extra evening slot 7pm to 9pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and Saturday 10am to 1pm. Closed Sundays.
• Themes of trauma and violence are present in the work, so it may not suit very young children.
