What to Expect

Raheny Library’s Summer Programme 2026 continues with an Irish Myths & Legends session on Wednesday 12 August at 2:30pm, bringing traditional Irish storytelling to young visitors during the school holidays. It’s part of a wider run of summer events the branch has been hosting to keep children entertained and reading through July and August.

Outside of the summer schedule, Raheny Library runs two regular programmes worth knowing about. The Toddler Group meets every Tuesday morning from 10:30am to 11:30am (except the Tuesday after a bank holiday), giving young children and their parents or carers a relaxed space to meet, chat and play together. No booking is required, so families can simply drop in. For slightly older children, the Brainy Bees Book Club is aimed at ages 10 to 12 and meets on the last Tuesday of every month from 3:15pm to 4:00pm, giving pre-teens a chance to discuss what they’re reading in a friendly, low-pressure setting.

Raheny Library sits within Raheny Shopping Centre in north Dublin, making it an easy stop to combine with other errands, and its children’s programming is a mainstay of family life in the area, alongside nearby St Anne’s Park. All events are free, in keeping with Dublin City Libraries’ policy across its branch network, and further updates are shared through the library’s newsletter.
