Rathmines Revival Festival 2026

At Rathmines Village · Rathmines, Dublin 6

Rathmines Revival Festival

Rathmines has always had its own rhythm - students, artists, long-term locals and newcomers all rubbing along in what was once one of Dublin’s grandest Victorian suburbs. The Rathmines Revival Festival takes that community energy and turns it into five days of street life, food, music and performance across the village. It runs from 30 June to 4 July 2026 and admission is free throughout, which makes it an easy reason to head south of the canal for an hour or the whole day.

What to expect

The festival fills Rathmines Village with street entertainment, live music, food vendors and cultural performances across the five days. The format is deliberately community-focused rather than headline-driven - expect local musicians, pop-up food stalls, performance artists and informal gatherings spread through the main streets and squares rather than a single cordoned-off stage. Times vary by day (check the organisers’ channels before you go), so it’s worth planning loosely and letting the afternoon unfold. The mood is relaxed and the crowd tends to be a mix of families, students and locals who know each other by sight, which gives the whole thing a genuine neighbourhood feel rather than a polished commercial production.

Getting there

Rathmines sits about 3 km south of Dublin city centre on the main spine road that runs through Ranelagh and Rathgar. By bus, routes 15, 15a and 16 run from the city centre (O’Connell Street area) and reach Rathmines in roughly 15-20 minutes. The Luas Green Line stops at Charlemont, about a 15-minute walk away through Ranelagh. If you are coming by bike, the route along the Grand Canal towpath is flat and straightforward. Driving into Rathmines during a festival week is not ideal - parking on the main street is limited and side streets fill quickly. Park-and-walk from further out or use a nearby residential street and walk in.

While you’re in Rathmines

The neighbourhood rewards a slow afternoon. The main street has a good run of independent cafes and restaurants and the Mart Gallery and Studios - a converted fire station - regularly has exhibitions worth a look. There is more to see in Rathmines and across Co. Dublin.
