What to Expect

Wild Strawberries is the IFI’s monthly film club aimed at audiences aged 55 and over, pairing a carefully chosen film with a relaxed, sociable screening environment. The strand takes its name from Ingmar Bergman’s 1957 classic and runs once a month with a single title, giving regular attendees a fixed date to build into their calendar. The August selection is Big Night, the 1996 comedy-drama about two brothers running an Italian restaurant, screening across two dates: Wednesday 26 August and Friday 28 August. As with other IFI strands aimed at older audiences, the pace is unhurried and the setting is designed for conversation before and after the film.

Getting There

The Irish Film Institute is on Eustace Street in Temple Bar, Dublin 2, a five-minute walk from College Green and served by Dublin Bus routes along Dame Street. Tara Street and Pearse DART stations are within fifteen minutes on foot, and the Luas Red Line stop at Jervis is a short walk across the Ha’penny Bridge.
