What to Expect

Intermediate 1 is the upper of Dublin camogie’s two intermediate grades, and its group stage plays out on Sunday afternoons through August. On 16 August, Lucan Sarsfields host Whitehall Colmcille, Fingallians face Naomh Mearnog, Crumlin meet Ballyboden St Enda’s, and Naomh Bríd host St Finian’s, all throwing in at 12:30. The round is part of a wider group stage that keeps most of the county’s second-tier clubs in regular Sunday action, with the top sides from each group moving on to contest promotion play-offs against the bottom of Senior 2 later in the year. Fingallians and Lucan Sarsfields are both clubs with growing camogie sections outside the traditional city-centre strongholds, and their results here feed into a wider picture of where the game is expanding fastest across the county.

Getting There

Crumlin’s grounds at Pearse Park are served by Dublin Bus routes along the Crumlin Road, close to the Kimmage/Crumlin shopping district. Lucan Sarsfields’ grounds are on the western edge of the city near the 12th Lock on the Grand Canal, best reached by car or Dublin Bus along the N4 corridor. Other grounds are best reached by car; check the host club’s page on dublingaa.ie for directions before travelling, particularly for the clubs based further west and north of the city.
