Dublin Camogie Senior 1 Championship - Group Stage

What to Expect

Senior 1 is the top grade of Dublin club camogie, and the group stage keeps to Sunday mornings through August. On 16 August, Na Fianna host Lucan Sarsfields and Faughs/Celtic face Cuala, while Ballyboden St Enda’s take on Castleknock and St Oliver Plunkett’s Eoghan Ruadh host Kilmacud Crokes, all throwing in at 10:30. St Vincent’s and Naomh Jude have byes in this round. With Dublin camogie’s strongest clubs concentrated in this grade, the group games regularly feature current and former county panellists, making for a good standard even at this early stage of the championship. Cuala have been among the leading forces in Dublin camogie in recent seasons, and their group tie against Faughs/Celtic is one of the round’s more closely watched fixtures.

Getting There

Ballyboden St Enda’s grounds are in the Ballyboden/Rathfarnham area on Dublin’s southside, served by Dublin Bus routes through Rathfarnham village. Na Fianna’s Mobhi Road grounds are in Glasnevin on the northside, a short walk from Glasnevin and reachable by Dublin Bus. Other grounds are best reached by car; check the host club’s page on dublingaa.ie for directions before travelling, as camogie group games can occasionally be moved to a nearby pitch if the main club grounds are in use.
