What to Expect

Senior 2 camogie gives a second wave of Dublin clubs a route towards the top grade, with promotion on offer for the strongest sides. Sunday 16 August has St Vincent’s hosting St Peregrine’s, Naomh Maur facing Naomh Ólaf, Ballinteer St Johns meeting Raheny, and Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels hosting Erin’s Isle, all throwing in at 10:30. The round-robin format means every club is guaranteed regular game time through August, with the top finishers from each pool moving into the knockout stages later in the season. Several of these clubs, including Raheny and St Vincent’s, field camogie sections alongside long-running football and hurling teams, so a home Sunday morning fixture often draws family and club members who would otherwise be at the football pitch next door.

Getting There

Ballinteer St Johns’ grounds are in Ballinteer on Dublin’s southside, served by Dublin Bus routes through Ballinteer and Dundrum, with the Luas Green Line at Dundrum a short bus or drive away. St Vincent’s grounds are in Marino on the northside. Other grounds are best reached by car; check the host club’s page on dublingaa.ie for directions before travelling, since Sunday morning fixtures at smaller grounds rarely have signage from the main road.
