At Portobello GAA Grounds · Leinster Road, Rathmines, Dublin 6, Co. Dublin
Junior 2 sits below Junior 1 in Dublin’s football pyramid and its group games are played midweek under lights through August. Friday 21 August has Croí Ró Naofa hosting St Colmcille’s at Killinarden Park and Na Dubh Ghall facing St Kevin’s Killians at Seagrange Park for Group 1, Cabinteely meeting St Monica’s at Kilbogget Park and Na Gaeil Aeracha facing Ballyfermot Gaels at Marino IOE for Group 2, and a three-way Group 3 evening at Stonebridge Road (Shankill), Leinster Road (Portobello v Rosmini Gaels) and Fairview Park (Na Gaeil Nua v St Josephs OCB). All games throw in at 19:15. As the county’s fifth football grade, Junior 2 is where several clubs are rebuilding after a difficult run of seasons, and a promotion push here can matter as much to a small club as a county final does further up the pyramid.
Portobello’s ground on Leinster Road is in Rathmines, well served by Dublin Bus routes along Rathmines Road and a short walk from the Grand Canal. Kilbogget Park in Cabinteely and Marino IOE are reachable via Dublin Bus; Killinarden Park in Tallaght is close to the Luas Red Line at Tallaght. Check the host club’s page on dublingaa.ie for directions to a specific ground, as several of these venues are smaller local pitches without dedicated parking, and floodlit evening fixtures can be harder to find in the dark on a first visit.
