Queen By Moonlight at Malahide Castle

At Malahide Castle, West Lawn · Malahide Demesne, Malahide, Co. Dublin

Tribute band performing at an outdoor evening concert

What to Expect

Queen By Moonlight brings the Live Queen Experience to the West Lawn at Malahide Castle for an open-air evening tribute show. The band is fronted by a Freddie Mercury soundalike backed by a full line-up of musicians, running through the big Queen singalongs against the backdrop of the floodlit castle. It’s part of Malahide Castle’s ongoing summer season of outdoor concerts and theatre on the lawn, which has become a regular fixture for the grounds over the last few summers.

As with the other lawn shows in this series, it’s designed as a relaxed picnic-and-blanket evening rather than a standing gig, so it suits a broad range of ages, from long-time Queen fans to families looking for an easy summer night out that doesn’t need a late finish or a big travel plan. The setting itself, on the demesne in front of the historic castle, is a big part of the draw alongside the music.

Tribute shows built around a single well-known band tend to draw a strong local crowd for exactly this reason: familiar songs, a relaxed outdoor setting, and none of the uncertainty of a new touring act. Malahide Castle’s West Lawn has hosted a run of similar tribute and theatre nights through the 2026 summer, so this is one of the later dates in that season before the outdoor programme winds down for the year.
