At Airfield Estate · Overend Avenue, Dundrum, Dublin 14
Airfield Estate’s Harvest Festival returns to the working urban farm in Dundrum for a full weekend on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September 2026, celebrating the end of the growing season with what the estate bills as “a weekend packed with hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and interactive exhibits” built around farming, food and family fun.
The programme is centred on Airfield’s own 38-acre farm and gardens, with sheepdog trials among the headline demonstrations, giving visitors a chance to watch working dogs handle the estate’s flock in a way city-based families rarely get to see up close. Alongside the demonstrations, the weekend features hands-on activities and exhibits aimed squarely at children and families, in keeping with Airfield’s role as one of the few places in South Dublin where kids can get close to farm animals and see food production first-hand rather than just in a petting-zoo setting.
Food is a strong part of the weekend too, with stalls and outdoor food options including Overends BBQ, Crepes in the City and the estate’s own Stables Cafe operating across the two days, so there’s no need to rush off for lunch between activities. As a working farm rather than a static heritage site, Airfield’s Harvest Festival has a genuinely different feel to a typical autumn fair, built around real seasonal farm work rather than a purely decorative harvest theme.
The festival starts at 9:30am each day. Entry is ticketed, with prices ranging from €8 to €15 depending on ticket type, bookable in advance through Airfield’s own ticketing system. Given the popularity of the sheepdog trials and family activities, advance booking is recommended over turning up on the day, particularly for the Saturday.
Airfield Estate is on Overend Avenue, Dundrum, Dublin 14. The Luas Green Line stop at Dundrum is about a ten-minute walk from the estate entrance, and Dublin Bus routes serve the area. Car parking on site is limited on festival days.
