At Edgeworthstown Library · Main Street, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford
Edgeworthstown Library Photography Club meets on the first Tuesday of every month, with its next session on Tuesday 4 August 2026 from 6.30pm to 7.45pm. Founded in February 2024, the club brings together photographers of every level, from smartphone beginners to those working with professional DSLR equipment, and has grown into one of the more active creative groups meeting regularly in County Longford’s library network.
Meetings are informal and centre on sharing work, discussing technique and planning group outings and projects. The club’s most visible recent project was “Through an Irish Lens,” an exhibition of members’ photographs of Irish life that showed at Longford Library from 5 to 16 May 2026, launched with a talk followed by a photo walk along the Mall that was open to the public. Regular monthly meetings are where that kind of project gets planned and where members critique and develop their own images between shows. New members at any level of experience are welcomed and can simply turn up on the night or contact the library beforehand to find out more. The club sits within Longford Library, Arts, Heritage and Archives Services’ wider push to give local creative groups a regular home, alongside book clubs and art classes running from libraries across the county.
Edgeworthstown Library is on Main Street in the centre of the town, which sits on the N4 between Longford and Mullingar. Bus Éireann services between Longford and Dublin stop in the town, and there is on-street parking nearby.
A photography club built around a small library is a good sign of the wider creative activity in the town. There is more to see in Edgeworthstown and across Co. Longford.
