Emyvale Cycling Club runs its own graded road race, the Emyvale Grand Prix, on Sunday, 23 August 2026, on a closed circuit of roads around Ardaghy in north Monaghan. Sign-on is at Ardaghey Community Centre, with C1 and C2 riders first off the line at 10am, followed by C3 and Masters categories shortly after.
The race runs on a roughly 25 kilometre circuit built around Ardaghy, Berry’s Brae and the surrounding County Monaghan back roads, finishing at Albert Berry Motors. C1 and C2 riders cover four laps for a 99 kilometre race, C3 riders do three laps for 74.7 kilometres, and Masters riders race two laps, 49.1 kilometres in total. Emyvale Cycling Club, based out of Emyvale Parish Field for its regular weekly spins, organises the event as its one graded race of the year, run under a full race manual covering neutral zones, feed stations and marshal points along the circuit. It draws licensed racers from clubs across Ulster and beyond rather than being a casual sportive, so expect a fast, close-marked bunch on the day. Sign-on opens at 8am and closes at 9am, so riders need to arrive with time to register before the C1/C2 start.
Ardaghy is a rural townland in north Monaghan, reached from Emyvale village or Monaghan town by local roads; the community centre has parking for competitors and support crews, though spectators should expect rolling road closures on the circuit itself while racing is on.
