What to Expect

The Feile Brian Boru is a five-day festival in the picturesque twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina, held annually in early July. The 2026 festival runs from Wednesday 1 to Sunday 5 July. Events include a Viking encampment with over 60 living history participants, the Shannon Swim from Pier Head to the Bridge, a camogie tournament, live music, craft markets and family-friendly street entertainment. The festival celebrates the life of Brian Boru, the High King of Ireland who was born in the area.

Getting There

Killaloe is approximately 20km north-east of Ennis on the R463. Parking available in and around both towns. The towns are linked by a stone bridge over the River Shannon.
