St Michael's Bridge Club Weekly Session

At Fermanagh House · Broadmeadow Place, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, BT74 7HR

Card players at a bridge club table

St Michael’s Bridge Club runs its weekly duplicate bridge session every Monday evening at Fermanagh House in Enniskillen, one of the longest-standing card club nights in the county. Players are asked to be seated by ten to seven for a seven o’clock start, and the format is duplicate bridge, where the same hands are replayed at different tables so that skill, not the luck of the deal, decides the result. The club is affiliated to the Northern Ireland Bridge Union, and its results and news are published on its own club website, a level of record-keeping that reflects a genuinely active, competitive card scene rather than a casual drop-in.

What to expect

Members and visitors take their seats by 6:50pm for a 7:00pm start, playing a set number of duplicate boards over the course of the evening with a break partway through. Scores are compared across tables at the end of the night, and results are posted afterwards on the club’s website along with club news and any upcoming events. An annual membership costs £20, payable by the end of September, while a single night’s play costs £5, which makes it straightforward for a curious newcomer to try a session without committing to membership straight away. Bridge is a partnership game, so visitors without a regular partner should contact the club in advance to be paired for the evening. The club draws a mix of long-time Enniskillen players and newer members, and beginners are generally directed toward introductory lessons before joining the main Monday session.
