At St Sinnins Oratory · Bellanaleck, Co. Fermanagh
Every Monday evening, the grouped parishes of Cleenish and Mullaghdun hold a Holy Hour at St Sinnins Oratory, combining a Rosary for Peace with a period of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. It is a quiet, contemplative fixture in the Church of Ireland parish calendar for the Bellanaleck and Letterbreen area, on the western shore of Lough Erne just outside Enniskillen, and it has continued week to week as one of the parish’s core acts of shared prayer.
The Holy Hour opens with the Rosary prayed for peace, followed by a period of quiet Exposition, when the church sits in stillness for reflection and private prayer rather than spoken liturgy. There is no sermon and no music programme; it is deliberately low-key, built around silence and the Rosary rather than performance. The Cleenish and Mullaghdun grouped parishes sit on the west side of Enniskillen, stretching from the shores of Lough Erne at Cleenish down towards the border with the Republic at Belcoo, and the Holy Hour draws parishioners from across that wider grouped area rather than Bellanaleck alone. Regular attenders tend to be a small, committed group, and visitors or anyone new to the area are welcome to come along without notice or any need to book ahead.
