Fermanagh Pride

At Enniskillen Castle: Fermanagh County Museum · Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh

Fermanagh Pride celebration at Enniskillen Castle

Fermanagh Pride brings LGBTQ+ community and allies together at one of the most striking outdoor settings in the north - the grounds of Enniskillen Castle, right on the banks of the River Erne. It is a free, family-friendly day out that mixes live music, food and craft stalls with the kind of easy-going solidarity that makes Pride events worth attending. Whether you are part of the queer community or simply want to show support, the atmosphere is welcoming and the setting is hard to beat.

What to expect

The festival runs from 12:30 PM and fills the castle grounds with live music, children’s entertainment and a range of charity and craft stalls. Food vendors are on site, so there is no need to plan around restaurants. The event is organised by Fermanagh Pride with support from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, and it has been running as an annual fixture on the local calendar for several years. The castle backdrop - two circular towers, a Water Gate and views across Lough Erne - gives the day a genuinely memorable setting that distinguishes it from more urban Pride events. Expect rainbow colours against grey stone and a crowd that draws from across Fermanagh, Tyrone and the border counties.

Getting there

Enniskillen sits roughly midway along the A4 between Belfast and Sligo - about 90 minutes from Belfast and around 2 hours from Dublin via the A3/N54 or N16. The castle is right in the town centre, a short walk from the main bus station on Wellington Road where Translink services run regular connections from Belfast, Omagh, Sligo and Monaghan. Parking is available at a number of town centre car parks a short walk away; the castle itself does not have a large dedicated car park, so arriving by bus on a festival day makes sense.

While you’re in Enniskillen

Enniskillen is the county town of Fermanagh and a good base for exploring the lakelands. The castle itself houses Fermanagh County Museum, which is worth a look before or after the festival. There is more to see in Enniskillen and across Co. Fermanagh.
