What to Expect

People of Portstewart is a community exhibition celebrating the people of the town, staged at Flowerfield Arts Centre from 20 July to 22 August 2026 as part of the wider Red Sails Festival 2026. The exhibition gathers portraits and stories of local residents, built with input from the community itself, and forms one strand of Red Sails, Portstewart’s summer festival of arts, heritage and seaside culture. It sits alongside the centre’s other summer programming, including its coastal themed exhibition The Sea We Share and the free Saturday Lunchtimes Live in the Park concert series, giving visitors several reasons to combine a trip to Flowerfield during August.

Flowerfield Arts Centre, run by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, is Portstewart’s main arts venue, with a gallery space, pottery studio, media workshop and 150 seat auditorium in a converted Georgian building on the Coleraine Road. The centre programmes exhibitions and events year round and is a key host venue for the Red Sails Festival each summer.

• Free admission, open to all.
• Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5pm, with an extra evening slot 7pm to 9pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and Saturday 10am to 1pm. Closed Sundays.

Flowerfield is on the Coleraine Road on the edge of Portstewart, close to the town centre and Portstewart’s seafront and promenade.
