At Roisin Dubh · 7 Dominick Street, Galway City, Co. Galway
Tigh He-He has been running upstairs at Roisin Dubh most Thursdays since 2022, and it remains one of the more consistent comedy fixtures in Galway city. The club takes place in the intimate club space above the main pub floor, a room small enough that there is genuinely no bad seat, which suits a night built around close, sharp stand-up. Each week brings a different headliner backed by support acts and a rotating host, so the bill changes from Thursday to Thursday. Past editions have featured comedians including John Colleary, Karl Spain, Emma Doran, Joe Rooney and Glenn Wool, alongside plenty of rising acts working through new material. Shows run from around 8:00pm for roughly 90 minutes, with table seating available for anyone settling in with a drink. The tone is relaxed and local rather than formal, which is a big part of why it has kept its following for several years running.
Roisin Dubh sits at 7 Dominick Street in Galway city centre, a short walk from Eyre Square. Bus Eireann routes connect Galway to towns across the county, with the bus station about ten minutes on foot from the venue. Anyone driving will find on-street parking around the West End and public car parks a few minutes’ walk from Dominick Street, though walking is the easiest option for anyone already staying in the city centre.
