Northern Irish comedian Dave Elliott, billed on the venue’s listing as “Northern Ireland’s favourite sly guy,” plays an intimate work-in-progress show at The Court House in Bangor on Monday 10 August 2026. As the name suggests, this is an early-stage try-out rather than a finished hour: the venue describes his new show as “but an embryo that he’ll be trying to fertilise in the Court Room,” meaning material may be rougher, shorter, or reordered on the night as Elliott develops it in front of a live audience. It is a chance to watch a working comedian shape a new set close up, in the Court House’s small theatre-seated Court Room.
The Court House sits on the seafront at Quay Street in Bangor town centre, a short walk from Bangor railway station on the Belfast to Bangor Translink line. The venue is a restored Victorian listed courthouse run as a non-profit arts space by the charity behind the town’s Open House Festival, with pay-and-display parking available along the nearby harbour front.
Work-in-progress nights tend to be smaller and more conversational than a full headline show, so arriving in good time for the 7:30pm doors is worth it if you want a seat close to the stage in the compact Court Room.
