CoCo Comedy Club - Saturday Primetime at The Roundy Cork

At The Roundy Bar and Cafe · 1 Castle Street, Cork City, Co. Cork

Saturday primetime stand-up comedy at CoCo Comedy Club Cork

What to Expect

The Saturday Primetime show is CoCo Comedy Club’s flagship weekly night, described by the club as the “creme de la creme” of its live comedy, and is hosted by Daniel Lukas. It runs upstairs at The Roundy, a bar and cafe on Castle Street in Cork city centre, with a mix of established Irish stand-ups and rising acts on the bill each week rather than a single named touring headliner. The room is small and informal by design, which is part of why regulars keep coming back rather than a slicker, bigger theatre show.

Because the exact comedians change week to week, CoCo Comedy Club posts the confirmed lineup for each Saturday on its own website and social channels closer to the date, along with an earlier 6:30pm show on the same night for anyone who wants a shorter night and an earlier finish. CoCo Comedy Club runs several nights at The Roundy through the week beyond Saturday, including a free Wednesday show called Low-Key Funny where acts try out new material, and a Thursday showcase with a slightly more polished bill. Of all of them, Saturday’s late Primetime show is consistently the biggest draw and the one most likely to sell out or fill up close to the door, so arriving in good time is worth it if you want a seat near the front.

Good to Know

  • Weekly Saturdays at 8:30pm (plus an earlier 6:30pm show), €10; The Roundy, 1 Castle Street, Cork city centre.
  • Tickets and the current week’s lineup are posted on The Roundy’s website and CoCo Comedy Club’s own site and social channels; doors and tickets are also available on the night, subject to availability.
  • Part of a full weekly comedy schedule at the venue - Wednesday’s free Low-Key Funny night and a Thursday showcase run alongside the Saturday shows, so it’s worth checking what else is on the same week.

Getting There

The Roundy is on Castle Street in Cork city centre, a five-minute walk from Patrick Street and the main bus stops on Grand Parade and South Mall. It is well within walking distance of Cork’s main shopping streets, so many visitors combine the show with an evening in town beforehand. Taxis and ride-share are practical for the return journey after a late show, especially on Saturday nights when the city centre gets busy.
