At The Loft at Seven Bridge Street · Seven Bridge Street, Galway City, Co. Galway
Little Cinema has run a monthly short film showcase in Galway since 2010, giving local and visiting filmmakers a room full of strangers to test their work on. The night runs on the last Wednesday of every month, and it has recently moved venue to The Loft at Seven Bridge Street in Galway City, having previously run for years at Roisin Dubh. The next screening lands on Wednesday 26 August 2026.
Each night is a curated run of short films, under ten minutes each, spanning comedy, drama, documentary, animation and music video. The one hard rule is that the filmmaker has to be there to introduce their own film on stage, then take questions once the lights come back up. Recent editions have run as themed “open genre” nights, mixing whatever has been submitted into one programme, though the exact theme for a given month is only confirmed closer to the date. It is a genuinely community event, closer to a filmmaker meetup with a screen than a standard cinema outing, and tickets have a habit of selling out.
Seven Bridge Street sits in Galway City’s West End, a short walk from Eyre Square and the train and bus station on Station Road. Galway is served by direct Irish Rail services from Dublin Heuston and by Bus Eireann coaches from most major towns, so the venue is an easy walk from either.
