Galway LGFA Club Championships 2026: Round 1

What to Expect

Galway LGFA’s adult club championships move into round-one action over the week of 10-16 August 2026, covering Senior, Intermediate and Junior A, B, C and D grades. Clubs including Salthill Knocknacarra, Kilkerrin-Clonberne, Dunmore MacHales and Naomh Mhuire feature among those in action across the various grades that week, with kick-off times through the week ranging from midday to evening throw-ins. The round comes in the same summer that Galway’s inter-county senior side won the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship, adding extra interest to club football at every level in the county this season. Junior and underage grades run alongside the adult club championships, with age-group fixtures for Under 16 and Under 14 also filling out the same week’s schedule.

Good to Know

• Round 1 fixtures across Senior, Intermediate and Junior grades are played across the week of Monday 10 to Sunday 16 August 2026.
• There is no single host venue: games are scheduled at club grounds throughout the county, with times and venues confirmed on Galway LGFA’s fixtures listing, and some venues still marked to-be-confirmed close to the round.
• Adult admission to LGFA club fixtures is generally in the region of EUR 8-10, with concessions and free entry for children typical at club grounds.
• Winners progress through subsequent rounds towards the knockout stages later in the year.
• Check the fixtures page in the days before your chosen match, as referees and venues are sometimes only confirmed a few days out.
• Kick-off times across the round span a wide window, from midday throw-ins up to fixtures starting as late as 20:15, so check the exact time for your chosen match.
