At Malahide Castle · Malahide Castle, Malahide, Co. Dublin
Hozier bringing his catalogue to the grounds of a 12th-century castle is the kind of show that tends to stay with you. The Wicklow-born singer-songwriter has built one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music, and MCD Productions regularly place him at Malahide Castle because the setting suits him: wide open sky, old stone walls at your back, a crowd that knows every word. This is a headline outdoor show on Saturday 4 July 2026 - a summer evening at one of north Dublin’s finest outdoor venues.
The concert takes place on the West Lawn at Malahide Castle and Gardens, a 20-acre open-air space with the castle as a permanent backdrop. It holds up to 20,000 people and is standing only. Hozier’s live sets draw from the full span of his work - the sparse blues of Cherry Wine, the raw power of Take Me to Church, and the more recent material from Unreal Unearth. His band fills the sound out considerably live; it is not a stripped-back acoustic experience but a full-production outdoor show.
Gates open at 4pm with music from 5pm. Food and drink vendors are on site throughout the evening. All venue bars operate on contactless card only - bring your card. Food vendors accept both card and cash. A reusable cup scheme runs with a €2 refundable deposit on your first drink.
Dress for Irish July: light layers, a waterproof layer, and boots or solid runners. Umbrellas are not permitted inside the arena. Bags larger than A4 are not allowed in. Sealed plastic bottles of water up to 500ml are fine to bring.
Malahide is about 16km north of Dublin city centre, easily reached by DART from Connolly, Tara Street, or Pearse stations. Malahide DART station is roughly a 15-minute walk from the arena entrance - follow the crowd and the signage. Dublin Bus routes 32 and 42 run from Talbot Street, and the Go-Ahead 102 connects Sutton and Swords via Malahide.
If you are driving, concert parking can be pre-booked through the Evntz app - do this well in advance as it fills up. There is no re-admission once you leave the venue, so plan accordingly.
Malahide village itself is worth arriving early for - the main street has good cafes and pubs if you want to eat before the gates open. The castle grounds and the Talbot Botanic Gardens are open during the day. There is more to see in Malahide and across Co. Dublin.
