Ireland’s Woodland Show returns to Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum in Inistioge for two days on Saturday, 29 and Sunday, 30 August 2026. The show is built around Ireland’s forestry and woodland sector, mixing working demonstrations with craft stalls, food and family activities across the arboretum grounds. Doors open at 10am both days and run through to 5pm. It draws foresters, woodturners and machinery operators alongside families out for a day in the gardens, with Celtic Chainsaw Carvers sculpting live throughout the weekend.
The show covers the practical and the crafted sides of woodland life side by side. Celtic Chainsaw Carvers work on sculptures live over the two days, alongside mobile saw demonstrations and displays of forestry machinery and equipment. Woodland talks and information stands run throughout, aimed at anyone interested in growing, managing or working with timber, while a separate run of artisan craft stalls and food stands covers everything else, from woodturning to home baking. Family activities are laid on across both days, making it as much a day out for children as a trade show for foresters. The setting adds to it: Woodstock’s arboretum was first planted in the 1840s and is one of the best tree collections in Ireland, so the show doubles as a reason to walk the wider gardens before or after the demonstrations.
Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum is on the edge of Inistioge village in south Kilkenny, on the R700 above the River Nore. There is no rail service to Inistioge; the nearest station is Thomastown, about 10 minutes away by car. Parking is available on site at Woodstock, and the gardens are a short walk uphill from the village.
