All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final 2026

At Croke Park · Jones Road, Dublin 3

All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final at Croke Park

The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final is the biggest day in the hurling calendar - the culmination of a championship that runs from April through July. Every year, Croke Park fills to its 82,300 capacity, and the noise, colour and scale of the occasion are like nothing else in Irish sport. If you have any interest in hurling at all, even a passing one, this is the match to see live at least once. It suits anyone who appreciates fast, skilful sport at full intensity, and it is well worth the journey from Leitrim.

What to expect

The final throws in at 3:30pm, but the day starts well before that. Gates open early and the build-up inside the ground is half the event - county flags everywhere, the Artane Band marching, and tens of thousands of supporters in rival jerseys creating an atmosphere television does not capture. The pre-match parade of both teams around the pitch is a long-standing tradition and genuinely moving if your county is involved.

Croke Park is a fully covered stadium in Dublin 3, with food and drink concessions throughout - on a final day around 25,000 soft drinks and 10,000 burgers are sold, so expect queues at half-time. Dress in layers; July in Dublin can go either way. Flares and smoke canisters are banned.

Tickets are not sold to the general public through standard outlets. Allocations go to the competing counties’ boards, who distribute through affiliated clubs. If you are a registered member of a hurling club in Leitrim or have a contact in the competing counties, that is your best route. Secondary market resellers do carry tickets but prices reflect the demand.

Getting there

From Leitrim, the most practical route is by car or coach to Dublin - Carrick-on-Shannon to the city takes around two hours via the N4/M4. Driving into Dublin on final day is not advised; traffic around the north inner city is heavy and parking near Croke Park is very limited. Park on the edge of the city near a Luas or DART station and travel in. From the city centre, the ground is a 15-minute walk from Connolly Station. Bus Eireann runs services from Carrick-on-Shannon to Busaras.

While you’re in Leitrim

Leitrim is one of Ireland’s least-visited counties and one of its most rewarding - river valleys, Iron Age hill forts, and long stretches of the Shannon and Erne waterways with very few crowds. There is more to see in Leitrim and across Co. Leitrim.
