Irish Card Party 1st Edition

The first Irish Card Party lands at the Castletroy Park Hotel and Suites on Limerick’s Dublin Road, a one-day gathering for trading card and collector fans built around Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic: The Gathering, sports cards and more. It runs across a full day, organised by Gerard Burke and sponsored by Protecto TCG Ltd, with vendors travelling from around Ireland to set up stalls, alongside artists and hobby creators selling merchandise.

What to expect

The day is split into three windows. A sensory hour from 10am to 11am is designed specifically for families with children on the autism spectrum, giving them a quieter first hour before the doors open more widely. Early entry runs from 11am to midday, followed by general admission from midday to 5pm once the venue is at full capacity. Children under 12 get in free with a paying adult. A dedicated trade area, sponsored by The Trading Post, gives collectors a space to buy, sell and swap cards directly with each other, and there is a best-dressed cosplayer giveaway with cosplay welcomed throughout the day. It is a first edition, so the organisers are clearly hoping to make it a recurring fixture on the Irish collector-event calendar, but this is a one-off date for now.

Getting there

Castletroy Park Hotel and Suites is on the Dublin Road on the eastern side of Limerick city, close to the University of Limerick and Castletroy’s shopping and business parks. There is parking on site at the hotel.
