Munster Rugby Home Fixtures - Thomond Park

At Thomond Park · Cratloe Road, Limerick, Co. Limerick

Munster Rugby match action at Thomond Park

Munster’s home United Rugby Championship season opens at Thomond Park on Saturday, 26 September 2026, when they host Glasgow Warriors at 5:30pm. It is the standout fixture of the URC’s opening round, pitting Munster against a Glasgow side who were 2024 champions, and it kicks off a home season that continues with further URC fixtures at Thomond Park through the autumn, including a game against the Vodacom Bulls on 3 October.

What to expect

Thomond Park holds around 25,100 spectators following a capacity reduction made for safety and comfort reasons in 2025, and it is one of the loudest club rugby grounds in Europe on a full house European or URC night. Munster is the stadium’s owner and primary tenant, with Shannon RFC and UL Bohemian RFC also playing out of the ground at other times. The 2026/27 URC fixture list was designed for a more even spread of home and away games and an updated touring pattern for the South African sides, and the Glasgow Warriors game was picked out by the URC itself as the standout fixture of the opening round. Expect the usual Thomond Park matchday build-up: pubs around the ground filling from early afternoon, a strong walk-up crowd, and live coverage on Premier Sports and URC.tv for those not attending. Further Munster home URC fixtures follow at Thomond Park roughly every two to four weeks through the rest of the season.

Getting there

Thomond Park is on the Cratloe Road, a short walk or taxi ride north of Limerick city centre across the Shannon. Match-day parking around the stadium is limited and mostly residential, so many supporters park in the city centre and walk, or use one of the shuttle bus services that run on European and big URC nights.

While you’re in Limerick

A Saturday evening kick-off leaves the afternoon free for the city, with King John’s Castle and the Hunt Museum both a short journey from the ground. There is more to see in Limerick and across Co. Limerick.
