Marquee in Drumlish Festival

At Old School Road, Drumlish · Old School Road, Drumlish, Co. Longford

Marquee in Drumlish Festival

Every August, the small village of Drumlish fills up with people from all over the country who come for four nights of country music, dancing, and the kind of communal good craic that is hard to manufacture. The Marquee in Drumlish Festival, run by Fr Manning Gaels GAA club, has built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most unapologetically rural summer events - the sort of thing people put in the diary months ahead and drive a fair distance to reach. It is strictly over-18s, so this is very much a night out rather than a family day, and it suits anyone who wants live entertainment done properly in an outdoor marquee setting.

What to expect

Gates open at 8.30pm each evening, with acts on stage from 9pm. The 2026 lineup features David James, Claudia Buckley, The Whistling Donkeys, DJ Mark McCabe, Ray Lynam and Mike Denver among others. Local legend Declan Nerney, whose name is synonymous with the Longford country music scene, traditionally takes to the main stage on the final Monday night.

Admission is on the gate only - no pre-sold tickets - at €25 per night. Cash and card are accepted Friday through Sunday; Monday night is cash only, so come prepared. The bar accepts both cash and card every evening. Bag checks are in place at entry.

Photo ID is required: an age card, driving licence, or passport will do. Security and local Gardaí are present throughout.

Getting there

Drumlish is on the N55 between Longford town and Granard, roughly 15 km north-east of Longford town. By car it is straightforward to reach from the M4/N4 corridor - take the N4 to Longford and then the N55 north. Stewards direct parking throughout the village. If you are arriving in a motorhome or camper van, dedicated parking is available at Drumlish Community Centre (Eircode N39 V8N9). Public transport to Drumlish itself is limited, so most people drive or organise shared lifts from Longford town. If you have a mobility requirement, contact a steward on arrival to arrange a drop-off point close to the entrance.

While you’re in Drumlish

Drumlish is a tight-knit community with a strong GAA tradition, and the festival reflects that character - it is run by volunteers who clearly care about the event. The surrounding north Longford countryside is quiet and green, good for a drive or a walk the following morning after the music. There is more to see in Drumlish and across Co. Longford.
