At Slane Castle · Slane, Co. Meath
Luke Combs makes history at Slane Castle this July as the first country music artist to headline one of Ireland’s most celebrated outdoor stages. Two sold-out nights on 18 and 19 July 2026 form part of his ‘My Kinda Saturday Night Tour’, with The Script, Ty Myers, and The Castellows supporting. If you have a ticket, you are part of something Slane’s 45-year run of landmark shows has not seen before.
Gates open at 3:00pm, so there is plenty of time to settle before the first support act. The stage sits at the foot of the castle grounds with the River Boyne behind the hill - the geography creates a natural sound bowl that has made Slane one of Europe’s most atmospheric outdoor venues since Thin Lizzy played here in 1981. The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Eminem, and Oasis have all stood on the same stage. Combs is known for long, crowd-focused sets, and the evening typically runs to around 10:30pm. Both nights carry the same support lineup and are separately ticketed - check which night your ticket covers.
VIP Castle Experience packages are available through slanecastle.ie, including grandstand seating, marquee access, and dining inside the castle.
Slane is roughly 50 km north of Dublin on the N2, about 10 km north-west of Drogheda. Coach travel is by far the easiest option - Garda traffic management on concert days restricts private cars on approach roads, and on-site parking requires pre-booking through official channels. Multiple operators run return coaches from Dublin, Belfast, and towns around the country, including JJ Kavanagh, Irish Concert Travel, and TravelMaster. The official coach park is at Roadstone Factory, about 2 km from the stage. Bus Eireann route 190 connects Navan and Drogheda to Slane for those piecing together public transport.
The village sits above a lovely stretch of the Boyne Valley, with the Hill of Slane - where Saint Patrick is said to have lit his Paschal fire - a short distance away. There is more to see in Slane and across Co. Meath.
