Mayo Roscommon Hospice Coffee Morning

Coffee morning fundraiser cups and teapot

What to Expect

Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation’s annual Coffee Morning, run in partnership with Bewley’s, falls on Thursday 25 September 2026, though the Foundation is clear that hosts can pick whatever date suits them best. Rather than one central event, people across Mayo and Roscommon are asked to host their own Coffee Morning, in a home, a workplace, or even online, with free Bewley’s coffee supplied to registered hosts. The idea is simple: gather friends, family or colleagues over coffee and cake, and raise funds for palliative care. The Foundation is explicit that “every euro raised locally stays locally,” supporting hands-on hospice and palliative care services for people with life-limiting illnesses across both counties, so a coffee morning hosted in a Castlebar kitchen or a Ballina office directly funds care closer to home.

The national Coffee Morning campaign, run with Bewley’s for more than three decades, is one of the best-known fundraising formats in Ireland, and Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation’s version follows the same model while keeping the funds firmly local to the two counties it serves. Registered hosts receive a starter pack with Bewley’s coffee, collection buckets and promotional material, and can choose to run a traditional in-person gathering, a takeaway coffee drop for neighbours, or a virtual coffee morning for people who cannot attend in person, making it one of the more flexible fundraising events on the county’s autumn calendar.
