The Loughcrew Hills, also known as the Hills of the Witch (Sliabh na Caillighe), contain a remarkable complex of Neolithic passage tombs dating to around 3500 BC. Guides are on site daily from 9:30am to 5:30pm, with guided tours running from 10:30am to 3:30pm (weather dependent). The cairns are aligned to sunrise at the spring and autumn equinoxes, when light illuminates the chamber’s carved stones. The Loughcrew Megalithic Centre also has a cafe, hostel, glamping yurts, and a craft shop.

Loughcrew is near Oldcastle in north County Meath, approximately 20km west of Kells. Signposted from the R154 and R195. No public transport to the site; car or taxi recommended.
