Navan School of Ballet Summer Camp 2026

At Solstice Arts Centre · Railway Street, Navan, Co. Meath

Navan School of Ballet Summer Camp at Solstice Arts Centre

A week of ballet at Solstice Arts Centre in Navan is the kind of summer camp that children talk about long after it ends. Navan School of Ballet runs four age-grouped camps across the same week, from tiny beginners aged three to experienced teens aged twelve and over, so the whole family can often come along at the same time. Each day builds toward an end-of-week performance for parents - a real stage, real choreography, real costumes - which gives the whole camp a sense of purpose that goes well beyond a series of classes.

What to expect

The four camps run back to back through each morning and early afternoon. Camp 1 is for ages 3 to 4 (9:45 to 10:45am daily, €40), introducing the youngest children to ballet through age-appropriate routines, games, and crafts - first steps, no pressure. Camp 2 covers ages 5 to 8 and Camp 3 ages 9 to 12, both running 11:00am to 1:00pm daily at €70; these move into ballet and jazz techniques, choreography work, arts and crafts, and preparation for the end-of-week show. Camp 4 is for ages 12 and over (2:00 to 4:00pm daily, €70) and requires prior ballet experience - it adds pilates alongside the performance and choreography focus. Sibling discounts apply: a second child pays €35 (Camp 1) or €65 (Camps 2-4). The camp has been growing in popularity year on year, so early booking is the sensible move.

Getting there

Solstice Arts Centre sits on Railway Street in Navan town centre - easy to find and straightforward to reach from across County Meath. Navan is about 50km northwest of Dublin on the M3 motorway; the drive from Dublin takes around 40 minutes. Bus Éireann runs regular services between Dublin Busáras and Navan, and several local routes connect surrounding towns. Street parking is available in the town centre, and there is public parking nearby on Academy Street and Watergate Street.

While you’re in Navan

Solstice itself is worth a look even outside of camp drop-off - it is Meath’s largest multi-disciplinary arts centre, designed by Grafton Architects and opened in 2006, with gallery spaces, a theatre, and a café on the ground floor. The Boyne Valley is on the doorstep if you want to fill the hours while the kids are dancing. There is more to see in Navan and across Co. Meath.
