At Men's Shed Steeple Antrim · Steeple, Antrim, BT41
Men’s Shed Steeple Antrim is a free, welcoming community group for men aged 50 and over based in the Steeple area of Antrim town. Members work on a wide mix of hands-on and creative activities including joinery, photography, art, IT and traditional crafts, and the shed has its own polytunnel where members grow vegetables and plants, plus a clay pizza oven in the garden. A members’ music group has written and recorded its own Shed Anthem, and the group has previously won a Community Champion award from the South Antrim Community Network for its work tackling isolation among older men. The shed is registered with the Irish Men’s Sheds Association, which currently lists 21 active sheds across County Antrim.
The Steeple is a residential area on the north side of Antrim town, a short walk or bus ride from Antrim town centre and Antrim railway station. Local Ulsterbus services run through the area from the town centre, and the Steeple Road links directly to Antrim’s main shopping streets.
