At JJ Killeen's · Main Street, Shannonbridge, Co. Offaly, N37 K7T8
Nathan Carter plays JJ Killeen’s marquee in Shannonbridge on Sunday, 2 August 2026, the sole 2026 Offaly date on a touring schedule that runs to around forty shows across Ireland, Britain and North America through into 2027. The gig is part of JJ Killeen’s Live in the Marquee series, an established summer programme at the Shannonbridge pub that has also hosted Michael English, Jamie McIntyre and a Boyzlife show earlier in the same year.
Carter performs with special guest support in a marquee erected beside the pub rather than indoors, a set-up JJ Killeen’s uses for its bigger summer bookings when a normal bar-room crowd would not fit. The show is restricted to patrons over 18. Carter is one of Ireland’s most consistently touring country and Irish artists, built a following through his teenage years performing in County Fermanagh and Britain before breaking through nationally, and a Shannonbridge date this size is a significant booking for a village pub of this scale. Doors open ahead of the 8pm start, and the marquee format means capacity is considerably larger than the pub itself, with both advance and door sales available, though popular dates in the series have sold out in the past, so advance booking is the safer option.
JJ Killeen’s is on Main Street in Shannonbridge, at the bridge crossing on the R357 between Athlone and Clonmacnoise. Parking for marquee events is arranged in and around the village; most attendees arrive by car given the limited public transport to Shannonbridge.
Shannonbridge sits beside a Napoleonic-era artillery fort built in 1812 to guard the river crossing, and the village is the usual starting point for the Clonmacnoise & West Offaly bog railway. There is more to see in Shannonbridge and across Co. Offaly.
