Phoenix Metal Fest brings a full day of heavy metal to John Lee’s Bar & Venue on Church Street, Tullamore, on Saturday, 1 August 2026. The all-day event is organised by Godless Inc. and falls on the August bank holiday weekend, with the venue’s stage given over entirely to metal acts for the day rather than the mixed bill it usually runs.
As of the venue’s last update, the full band lineup had not yet been announced, though the festival is billed and ticketed as a full day of metal, run back to back with a second, separate show the following night, a grunge tribute gig at the same venue. John Lee’s has built a reputation locally for genre nights of this kind, running everything from vinyl DJ days to tribute bands through its Church Street venue across the year. Entry is €15 plus a €1.50 booking fee, and the venue asks that tickets be bought in advance rather than relying on the door on the day. Expect a standing, bar-venue setup rather than a seated theatre show, with the day running from afternoon into the evening as bands rotate through sets.
