What to Expect

Portglenone Community Workshop and Men’s Shed is a registered community resource providing workshop facilities and a Men’s Shed space in Portglenone, in the Causeway Coast and Glens area of County Antrim. The shed offers regular sessions for local men to work on practical projects, share tools and skills, socialise and benefit from the wellbeing effects that come with the Men’s Shed model - a low-pressure space where friendships form around the workbench rather than a formal agenda. Portglenone is a small rural village, and the shed plays an important social role there, particularly for older men who might otherwise have few regular reasons to get out and meet others during the week. It is one of 21 active Men’s Sheds currently listed across County Antrim by the Irish Men’s Sheds Association.

Getting There

Portglenone sits on the A42 road on the banks of the River Bann, roughly 8 miles from Ballymena and a similar distance from Maghera. Local Ulsterbus services connect the village to Ballymena, Maghera and Kilrea; there is on-street parking in the village centre near the workshop.
