At Iontas Castleblayney · Connabury, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan
Rory’s Stories, the comedian known for his online sketches and touring stand-up shows, brings his new show The Good Ol’ Days to Iontas Castleblayney on Friday, 11 September 2026. The show looks back at life before social media took over, contrasting old teenage disco rituals with the grooming routines, coffee culture and general busyness of modern life. It is an over-16s show and part of a wider tour of venues around Ireland.
An evening of observational stand-up built around nostalgia for simpler times, moving between subjects like getting the torch shone on you at the teenage disco, the rise of elaborate grooming and skincare routines, and how much more complicated everyday life has become since phones took over. Rory’s Stories built his following through short comedy videos before moving into full theatre tours, and the show is pitched as a night full of stories, madness and good craic rather than a tightly scripted set, with plenty of crowd interaction along the way. Doors open at Iontas’s usual theatre slot with the show running around two hours in total. Expect a mixed crowd of long-time online followers and locals out for a Friday night at their nearest arts centre.
