What to Expect

Run To The Beast, a name that splices together two of the band’s own song titles, “Run to the Hills” and “The Number of the Beast”, is a tribute act built around Iron Maiden, the British heavy metal band formed in 1975 whose galloping bass lines, twin and triple guitar harmonies, and Bruce Dickinson’s operatic vocal range defined a large part of what heavy metal sounds like. Expect a set drawn from across the catalogue, “Run to the Hills”, “The Trooper”, “Fear of the Dark”, “The Number of the Beast”, played with the theatrical commitment that Maiden tributes tend to lean into, since the originals built their reputation as much on stagecraft as on musicianship. Getting There

Galway city is well connected from around the country, with Irish Rail running direct services from Dublin Heuston in around two hours fifteen minutes and Bus Eireann and Citylink both running frequent coaches from Dublin, Limerick and Cork. Monroe’s is on Dominick Street Upper in Galway’s West End, across the bridge from the Claddagh and about a 10 to 15 minute walk from Eyre Square and the train and bus station. The West End has plenty of pubs nearby for before the show and taxis are easy to find afterwards.
