At Longford-Drumlish Community Sports Hub · Drumlish, Co. Longford
STARCAMP has been running summer camps across Ireland since 2007, and the Longford edition draws children from across the county every year. Week 1 runs at the Longford-Drumlish Community Sports Hub and packs five mornings with performing arts, games, and creative activities for children aged 4 to 12. If your child has energy to burn over the summer and you want something that does more than babysit them, this is a well-run programme with a genuine track record.
The 2026 theme is circus, and it runs through everything on the timetable. For younger children (ages 4-8, the STARCAMP group), that means clowning games, balance activities, singing, dancing, colourful circus crafts, treasure hunts, magic, and a teddy bear circus party - the week wraps up with a little circus show. Older children (ages 8-12, the STARCREW group) get a more advanced version: ringmaster skills, circus-style challenges, choreography, music, mystery-solving, and outdoor adventures. Both groups build confidence and teamwork in a group setting without it ever feeling like a school exercise.
Camp runs 9:00am to 2:00pm each day, with free early drop-off available from 8:45am. Sibling discounts apply, and multi-week bookings come with a price reduction. The base price is from €100 per week. Optional STARCAMP merchandise - including a t-shirt - can be added at booking. Medical information and allergy details are collected during registration, so the team comes prepared.

Drumlish is a quiet community village with a strong GAA tradition - the Longford Slashers have a connection to the wider county, and the sports hub itself was developed in 2020-2021 to give the community a proper facility for exactly this kind of activity. The surrounding countryside is typical gentle Longford farmland, good for a walk or drive between drop-off and pick-up. There is more to see in Drumlish and across Co. Longford.
