The Kooks at Trinity Summer Series Dublin

The Kooks close the Trinity Summer Series on 5 July 2026 with a show built around the 20th anniversary of their quadruple-platinum debut album, Inside In/Inside Out. For anyone who grew up with that record - “Naive”, “She Moves in Her Own Way”, “Eddie’s Gun” - this is the kind of concert that feels less like a gig and more like a reunion. The outdoor setting in the grounds of Trinity College Dublin suits it perfectly: a warm summer evening, a crowd that knows every word, and one of the defining British indie records of the 2000s played in full. Support comes from The K’s. It is a fitting end to a week-long series that also featured Wet Leg, Glen Hansard, and OMD on the same stage.

What to expect

The Trinity Summer Series is a standing-only outdoor concert series held each summer in the grounds of Trinity College Dublin. The stage is set on grass, so expect a festival feel in a city-centre location rather than a formal seated venue. Gates open at 7pm with the show starting at 7:30pm. The Kooks are performing in celebration of 20 years since Inside In/Inside Out landed in January 2006, went to number two in the UK, and earned a BRIT Award nomination for “She Moves in Her Own Way”. The anniversary angle means the setlist will lean heavily on that debut, though the band released their seventh studio album Never/Know in 2025 - their highest-charting work since 2008 - so there is likely to be new material alongside the classics. This is the final night of the series, which typically gives closing shows a particular energy.

Getting there

Trinity College sits at the heart of Dublin city centre. For concerts, the usual College Green and Nassau Street entrances are closed - all ticketholders enter via Lincoln Place, beside The Lincoln Inn pub on the eastern side of campus. Pearse DART station is a five-minute walk, and Tara Street DART station is about ten minutes. The LUAS Green Line stops at Dawson Street and at the Trinity stop, both close to the venue. Multiple Dublin Bus routes serve the area. Driving into the city centre for a summer evening concert is not recommended - parking is limited and traffic around College Green can be slow. Cycling is a good option, with bike racks and Dublin Bikes stations nearby.

While you’re in Dublin

The campus itself is worth arriving early to appreciate - the cobbled squares and the Long Room library have been drawing visitors for centuries. There is more to see in Dublin and across Co. Dublin.
