At IMMA - Irish Museum of Modern Art · Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin 8
The Prodigy bring their Warriors Dance headline show to the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham on 20 August 2026 - one of Dublin’s most striking outdoor venues and a very different setting to any arena or festival field. This is not a nostalgia act. Liam Howlett and Maxim have kept The Prodigy as a properly dangerous live proposition, with a wall-of-sound production and a setlist that earns its crowd every time. Support comes from Carl Cox and David “Ram Jam” Rodigan, making the evening a full night of electronic and dance heavyweights. If you want to hear Firestarter, Breathe, Omen and Smack My Bitch Up in the open air, against the backdrop of a 17th-century stone courtyard, this is the occasion.
The show takes place on the grounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, which occupies the Royal Hospital Kilmainham - built in 1684 as a home for retired soldiers and one of the finest baroque buildings in Ireland. Outdoor concerts here have a particular atmosphere: the scale is generous but not overwhelming, and the venue’s stone walls hold sound well. Gates open at 5:00pm, giving plenty of time to get settled before the openers. Carl Cox and Rodigan warm the crowd before The Prodigy close the night. The band’s current production is built around their Warriors Dance festival set - heavy bass, strobes, and a tempo that does not let up. Tickets run from €77.25, available via Ticketmaster.
There is no public parking at Royal Hospital Kilmainham on event days and Military Road carries traffic restrictions, so public transport is the sensible option. The Luas Red Line is the easiest route - take it towards Saggart or Tallaght and exit at Heuston Station, then walk five minutes along Military Road to the East Gate entrance. The same short walk applies if you arrive by train into Heuston. Dublin Bus routes 13, 60, 68, 68a, G1, G2 and the C Spine routes also serve nearby stops on James Street and Emmet Road. If you are getting a taxi post-show, ranks operate at Heuston Station and Kilmainham Gaol. The TFI Live app is worth having on your phone for live departure times on the night.
Kilmainham is one of the city’s most historically dense areas - Kilmainham Gaol is a ten-minute walk away, and the War Memorial Gardens are just along the quays. There is more to see in Dublin and across Co. Dublin.
