What to Expect

Tullynally Castle is a historic country house near Castlepollard featuring medieval and Victorian architecture set within 70 acres of grounds including formal gardens, woodland walks, and lake views. The castle has been the seat of the Pakenham family for centuries. Heritage tours explore the house’s architecture, period rooms, art collections, and the family history spanning medieval to modern times. The gardens include rare plants, specimen trees, and landscaped features.

Open to visitors during summer season 2026 (typically June-September, weekends and bank holidays 2:00pm - 6:00pm). Castle tours by appointment; gardens more freely accessible. Admission €10 (castle tour) or free (gardens only, check on the day). Booking recommended for large groups. The castle has multiple levels accessed by stairs; not fully wheelchair accessible.

Getting There

Tullynally is 4km north of Castlepollard village, signposted from the town. Accessible by car with on-site parking. Castlepollard is 10km north of Mullingar via the N4.
