TUS Clare Senior Hurling Championship - Semi-Finals 2026

At Cusack Park · Cusack Park, Station Road, Ennis, Co. Clare

Fans at Cusack Park Ennis for the Clare Senior Hurling Championship semi-finals

The TUS Clare Senior Hurling Championship semi-finals are among the most anticipated club GAA fixtures in the Munster calendar. Four clubs have come through the group and quarter-final stages to reach this point, and by August the intensity is considerable - local rivalries run deep in Clare hurling, and a place in the county final is a serious prize. If you have any connection to Clare or to hurling, this is the kind of afternoon that makes the trip worthwhile. The standard is high, the crowds are loud, and Cusack Park on a big club day has a character all of its own.

What to expect

The semi-finals are typically run as a double-header at Cusack Park, meaning two full senior hurling matches in one sitting. Clare is one of the stronger hurling counties in Ireland, and the club game here has produced All-Ireland club champions in recent decades - clubs like Sixmilebridge, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Ballyea and Éire Óg Ennis have all left their mark on the provincial competition. By the semi-final stage the weaker sides have been sorted out, so you can expect sharp, committed hurling from players who know each other well and have scores to settle. The championship itself is sponsored by TUS (Technological University of the Shannon) and is run by Clare GAA. The final typically follows in September or October, also at Cusack Park.

Getting there

Ennis is the county town of Clare and is well connected by road and rail. From Dublin, the M7 and M18 motorways bring you to Ennis in just over two hours. From Limerick it is a straightforward 30-minute drive on the N18. Bus Éireann runs regular services from Limerick, Galway and Dublin to Ennis Bus Station, which is roughly a 10-minute walk from Cusack Park along Station Road. The ground sits just off the main road into town, so it is easy to find. Street parking is available in the surrounding roads, and there are car parks in the town centre a short walk away. Allow extra time on match days as traffic builds around the ground.

While you’re in Ennis

Ennis has a compact town centre with a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants, and the town is the starting point for exploring the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher and the Clare coastline. There is more to see in Ennis and across Co. Clare.
