At Griffith College · South Circular Road, Dublin 8
One of Ireland’s biggest plant-based gatherings, the Dublin Vegan Food Festival packs two full days with food, speakers, live demos and a market covering everything from street food to cruelty-free skincare. It suits committed vegans, the plant-curious, and anyone who simply wants to eat well and find things they can’t pick up in a supermarket. Families are welcome, and the campus setting gives it room to breathe.
The festival runs across the grounds of Griffith College, which has the space to host over 50 stalls without feeling cramped. Food is the main pull - expect vegan cheeses, loaded burgers, fried “chick’n”, falafels, sushi, tacos, hot dogs, pizzas, ice cream and elaborate cakes. Beyond Ireland, the food range stretches across Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and North America, so there is real variety if you work your way around the site.
Non-food stalls cover plant-based cosmetics, body care and clothing. On the programme side, live cooking demonstrations give you a chance to pick up techniques, and talks on nutrition, sustainability and animal welfare run through both days. The audience is a mix of long-term vegans and people taking their first look at plant-based living - neither group tends to feel out of place.
Bring both cash and card if you can. Not every stall takes card, and queues at ATMs near the venue can build up by midday.
Griffith College sits on the South Circular Road in Dublin 8, about 2km south-west of St Stephen’s Green. The handiest public transport option is the Luas Green Line to Harcourt, which is roughly a 15-minute walk. Dublin Bus routes 16, 49 and 54A all serve the South Circular Road corridor. If you are driving in from outside the city, the college has on-site parking - arrive early on the Saturday as it fills up once the festival is in full swing. Coming from Cork, Limerick or Galway, the M7/M4 motorways feed onto the South Circular Road without needing to pass through the city centre.
Dublin 8 is one of the city’s more interesting neighbourhoods to walk around - the Irish Museum of Modern Art at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham is ten minutes away, and the Liberties has a good stretch of independent shops and cafes. There is more to see in Dublin and across Co. Dublin.
