Athlone Chamber of Commerce holds its August Business After Hours networking evening at LWETB’s Garrycastle campus on Thursday 27 August 2026, from 6pm to 7:30pm. It is a casual, deliberately informal gathering rather than a structured conference session, aimed at giving Chamber members and the wider Athlone business community a relaxed evening to meet, reconnect and swap news over light refreshments.
The Chamber describes the format as having no fixed agenda, with the focus firmly on conversation, connection and collaboration rather than presentations or speeches. LWETB, the Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board, hosts the evening at its Garrycastle base, giving attendees a chance to see the campus while meeting local business owners, managers and Chamber staff in an unstructured setting. It fits a recurring slot in the Chamber’s calendar, following the same after-hours format used at other venues around the town through the year, and it runs for ninety minutes so it can work as an after-work stop rather than a full evening commitment.
