At Walters · Walters, Dun Laoghaire
If you have ever wanted to belt out Dancing Queen in a room full of strangers who are all doing the same thing, this is your night. ABBA Interactive is a Mamma Mia-inspired sing-along show brought to Walters in Dún Laoghaire by The Brunch Club and Plug Artists, and it runs for over two hours of ABBA hits and dancefloor classics. It is part of Dún Laoghaire Summerfest 2026, which makes the whole evening feel like a proper occasion rather than just a midweek gig. Best suited to ABBA fans of any age, groups celebrating something, or anyone who just wants a guaranteed good night out.
The format is interactive from the start - this is not a show where the audience sits politely. Dress up is actively encouraged, and joining the performers on stage is part of the deal. Over the course of more than two hours, the band works through the ABBA catalogue: Waterloo, Mamma Mia, Voulez-Vous, Fernando, The Winner Takes It All and more. Walters runs the show upstairs in its dedicated event space at 68 George’s Street Upper, which has its own bar and holds a crowd well without feeling cavernous. The organisers note early booking is advised - dates like this tend to sell out once the Summerfest buzz builds.
Dún Laoghaire is one of the easiest towns to reach from Dublin city. The DART runs frequently from Connolly, Tara Street and Pearse stations, and Dún Laoghaire station is a short, flat walk from Walters on George’s Street Upper. Dublin Bus routes 46A and 75 also serve the area. If you are driving, there is paid parking in the Bloomfields Shopping Centre car park and along the seafront, though on a Saturday evening spaces fill up - arriving by public transport is the easier call. Walters is roughly ten minutes on foot from the DART station.
The show starts at 8pm, so there is plenty of time to walk the East Pier beforehand or grab food at one of the restaurants around the harbour. Dún Laoghaire is the kind of place that rewards an hour of wandering before an evening event. There is more to see in Dún Laoghaire and across Co. Dublin.
