What to Expect

Arklow Makers Craft Fair sets up inside Bridgewater Shopping Centre every Saturday and Sunday, with up to 23 local artisans showing handmade goods ranging from traditional crafts to more contemporary work. Being indoors in a shopping centre means the fair runs regardless of weather and picks up passing footfall from regular shoppers, which gives it a steadier, more retail feel than an outdoor weekend market.

The range of makers changes week to week, but the format stays the same: a relaxed, browsable set of stalls where visitors can meet the people who made what they are buying, from jewellery and textiles to woodwork, art and other handcrafted items, all under one roof in the centre of Arklow.

Running every weekend, year round, makes Arklow Makers one of the more reliable craft markets in the county for anyone who wants to browse without checking a calendar first. Combined with the shopping centre’s other stores, it gives visitors a reason to make a longer stop in Arklow rather than passing through on the N11.

Getting There

Bridgewater Shopping Centre is on the edge of Arklow town centre, just off the N11, with its own large car park. Arklow is well served by Bus Eireann and rail services on the Dublin to Rosslare line, both within easy walking distance of the centre, making the craft fair one of the more accessible weekend markets in South Wicklow for visitors without a car.
