Booka Shade at Button Factory

At Button Factory · Curved Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2

Booka Shade at Button Factory Dublin July 2026

German duo Booka Shade - Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier - return to Dublin on Saturday 11 July 2026 for what they have described as their last Dublin show for a while. If you have caught them before, you already know to go. If you have not, this is the one to start with. Their sound sits at the intersection of minimal techno, deep house and electronic pop: groove-driven and melodic, with a warmth that sets them apart from more purely functional dance music. Presented by Selective Memory, with support from Al Gibbs.

What to expect

Booka Shade have been making records since the mid-1990s and have headlined major festivals including Coachella and Glastonbury. They are known for their live shows as much as their DJ sets - the pair perform with hardware and instruments rather than simply playing back a set, which gives the night a different energy to a standard club night.

The Button Factory is one of the better rooms in Dublin for this kind of show. It holds around 550 standing, with a raised mezzanine level for those who want a bit of distance from the floor. The sound and sightlines are good throughout. Selective Memory have been bringing high-quality electronic acts to Dublin for years and the production is always solid.

Doors are at 7:30pm and the show runs to approximately 10:30pm. Al Gibbs opens.

Getting there

Button Factory is on Curved Street in Temple Bar, a short walk from the city centre. Tara Street DART and commuter rail station is five minutes on foot - useful if you are coming from the south or north of the city. Dublin Bus routes along Dame Street stop two minutes from the door. If you are driving, parking is available at the Drury Street multi-storey and at Setanta Centre, though Temple Bar can be slow on a Saturday evening so public transport is the easier choice.

While you’re in Dublin

Temple Bar itself has plenty to do before doors open - the area runs along the south bank of the Liffey and has restaurants, pubs and bars within a few minutes of the venue. The National Gallery and Trinity College are walkable from here if you are making a day of it. There is more to see in Dublin and across Co. Dublin.
