At Brockagh Lane car park · Brockagh Lane, Laragh, Co. Wicklow
Follow the Camino runs a fundraising hill walk over Paddock Hill and Trooperstown from Laragh on Saturday 15 August 2026, with the €20 entry fee going entirely to the group’s partner charities, which had not yet been finalised at the time the event was listed. It is a guided group walk rather than a self-navigated hike, aimed at anyone who enjoys the Wicklow Mountains and wants their walk to raise money at the same time.
Participants meet and park at the Brockagh Lane car park in Laragh by 8:45am, ahead of a route that climbs Paddock Hill and continues over Trooperstown, two of the hills that ring the Glendalough valley. The walk runs for around six hours and fifteen minutes in total, finishing at approximately 3pm, so it suits reasonably fit walkers who are comfortable on hill terrain for a full day out. As with other Follow the Camino fundraising walks, the appeal is as much about the shared walking experience and the Wicklow scenery as the distance covered, with the charitable element built into the ticket price rather than requiring separate sponsorship.
Laragh sits at the meeting point of several valleys in the Wicklow Mountains, close to Glendalough, and is most easily reached by car. Brockagh Lane car park is a well-known local meeting point for hill walks in the area; there is no public transport directly to the car park itself.
