At Carrigtwohill Community Centre · Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork
A Sunday morning spent rummaging through car boots in East Cork is hard to beat for value and variety. The Carrigtwohill Car Boot Sale runs on a handful of Sundays each summer at Carrigtwohill Community Centre, organised by Carrigtwohill Community Council as a fundraiser that has built a loyal following across Cork and beyond. It suits families, vintage hunters, collectors, and anyone who enjoys the unhurried pace of an outdoor market without the tourist markup.
Trading takes place across both indoor and outdoor areas at the community centre, so the sale goes ahead rain or shine. Goods on offer span the full range of car boot classics - clothing, books, toys, bric-a-brac, kitchenware, tools, and the occasional piece of furniture or vintage find. Standards vary from stall to stall, which is exactly the point; the best finds often come from the most unassuming boots.
Gates open from 9am and the sale typically runs through to around 2pm. Early arrivals get first pick. Refreshments and toilet facilities are available on site. Sellers pay €10 per car or van; buyer entry is free. The confirmed 2026 summer dates are 5 July, 2 August, and 30 August - worth noting if you want to plan a few Sunday mornings in East Cork across the season.
Carrigtwohill sits on the N25 Cork to Waterford road, roughly 20km east of Cork city - about a 20-minute drive from the city centre. The community centre is in the village itself and there is ample parking at the venue. By public transport, Irish Rail’s Cobh and Midleton lines both stop at Carrigtwohill station, from where the community centre is a short walk through the village.
Carrigtwohill is a busy East Cork town with a friendly village core; the morning after the boot sale is a good excuse to sit in for a coffee before heading home. There is more to see in Carrigtwohill and across Co. Cork.
